Tuition Options – What is a Family Loyalty Credit?

Dear Birons Families,

I hope this message finds you and everyone in your family in good health, and in good spirits. As scary and serious as the physical impact of COVID-19 is, the emotional one is unprecedented for all of us – especially our kids. But we will get through this together.

While we are still operating limited camps for critical infrastructure jobs, the evening times when we are used to the gym being loud, positive, and full of joy have been replaced with an eerie silence. I have always felt that Birons owes our community so much. That we are here not only to serve our families, but to be a part of them. There is no greater joy nor responsibility than the one that you entrusted to us – the opportunity to be a part of your child’s life. However, Birons is facing the same hard truth that most small businesses like us are at the moment –  if we lose our customers, we will not be able to pay our rent and our employees.

In order to not just survive this, but to help our families who will need it both in the short and long term, I’m writing to ask for help from you.

We are scheduled to resume classes on April 30th, but we don’t know for sure when we will be able to officially reopen. Before we charge you for future months, or before you cancel, we ask you to consider three options we have arranged:

____________________________

 Remain enrolled and earn 10%

There is no action required for this option. All families who can remain enrolled will receive a Family Loyalty Credit. During this pause of operations, 110% of the tuition you pay for paused classes will be divided evenly over the first 10 months once we resume. Any partial months will be prorated. This will save your spot in your class, and will provide critical income for us to keep our doors open and support our staff where we can.

For example, if you pay $100 a month and choose to stay enrolled to help us support our staff and pay our rent, you will earn an additional 10% bonus, making your Family Loyalty Credit $110. This $110 will be divided over the first 10 months once we resume, saving you $11 per month.

Alternatively, you can use your family loyalty credit towards extra curricular programs such as parents night out, camp, or toddlers day out.

Tuition Relief

Families who are struggling during this time, but are able and willing to help Birons to some degree, will only be charged $50 per student for each paused month. This will retain your spot in class, and when classes resume your family will get $50 off monthly tuition per student for each month tuition relief was paid.

For example, if we are paused for the month of April you will only be charged $50 per enrolled child. If we resume in May, you will get a $50 discount off that month per enrolled child who paid a tuition relief payment. Alternatively, you can apply this $50 towards an extracurricular program such as parents night out, camp, or toddlers day out.

Cancelation of Enrollment

If you need to cancel, we understand – we are making the same hard and important decisions with our own families. The normal drop procedure remains the same, just contact our front desk and they will direct you to the drop form on our website.

I want to end this message on a hopeful note, and one of gratitude. Thank you for all that you have given us in the past. Thank you for whatever you can continue to do to keep us open and support our staff. While social distancing is so critical, it is not the same as social isolation. None of us are alone in this. We will get through this, and we will be stronger and better for it. I can’t wait to see all of your families and kids again on the other side of this mess. Stay safe, stay healthy, and thank you for supporting Birons in whatever way you can.

Sincerely,

Patrick Biron
